A Band Statement

A band statement 🖤

It was 24th February 2018 when an email arrived in our inbox replying to a Facebook post we'd put out searching for a drummer to join our newly formed project. Shortly after a night in a north London pub and a session in a rehearsal room, KIN was formed. Since then we've played countless gigs, our first festival, had multiple BBC Introducing plays, over 400k song streams, had fan accounts and badges made for us, sold out of merch... the list goes on!

We've learnt and progressed so much as people during our time together, and although the band has been a constant factor, our lives have changed around it. As the band continues to grow its become increasingly hard to navigate our busy schedule.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of @rituarya from KIN.

We created this band to be a completely collaborative project and we have loved every minute of working together, finding our sound and growing as a unit. We've come so far in the 4 years we've been together, and we wouldn't be the band we are today without Ritu's input. More than anything, we've just had such a joyous time.

Friday was our last show with Ritu behind the kit and it was an amazing and special one for all of us. This isn't the end for KIN. We still have so many exciting things to come such as the Soapdish video release, a December headline show at Folklore, more new singles and the release of our debut EP (written with Ritu) which will be released next year.

We're so incredibly proud of Ritu, she's absolutely amazing and we love her so very much. She’s our best friend and our sister. That will never change.

Thanks for sticking with us. We wouldn't be where we are now without all of you too! We love you all.

We’re excited for the future. This is just the start! Stay tuned.

Much love,

Grace & Adam x
